Impact on Students
The Common Core State Standards ensure that students will be ready to enter the real world when they are finished with their schooling. They make sure that students will be ready for college, careers and their life. They establish clear, consistent guidelines for what students should know and be able to do at each grade level in ELA and math (Common Core State Standards Initiatives, 2010). According to the NEA (2013), the CCSS will overall impact student learning in a positive way and share six ways they think it will impact student learning. Those six reasons include:

All six of these reasons show that students will become better learners, higher level thinkers and collaborators through the CCSS.
Impact on Teachers
The CCSS have a positive impact on teachers. They have allowed teachers to change teaching techniques, improve teamwork among instructors, have consistent educational requirements and changes to continued education (Concordia Online Education, 2015). Teachers will have to now ensure that their students are prepared for the curriculum to come the following year. They will need to change their instruction to not teach to the test, but teach so that their students understand the material. Collaboration among teachers from across the country is made easier therefore can aide in changing instruction. The Common Core State Standards Initiative (2010) provides distinct ways in which the CCSS will impact teachers. Those include:
- Providing them with consistent goals and benchmarks to ensure students are progressing in a path towards success in their college or career
- Providing them with consistent expectations for students who move from other districts or states
- Providing them with the opportunity to collaborate with teachers across the state and country to develop curriculum, materials and assessment tools
- Helping colleagues and professional development programs better prepare teachers
